AUGUST 2003

John in the Apiary for an August Inspection
Another quiet month with very hot, dry weather.
Regular inspections were carried out during August but no more queen cels
were found. All the colonies seem to be doing well with the bees collecting
lots of pollen and filling the Supers. It seems as though it is going
to be quite a good honey harvest again this year.

Now that things have quietened up a bit Paul had time
to make a roof & Floor
On Saturday, 23rd August there was an auction\sale of bees and bee-keeping
equipment held at Holme-on-Spalding-Moor belonging to a member of the
York and District Beekeeper's Association, but the prices went too high
for us
Oh well, at least now we know the cost of our hobby.
