2000 Summary
2000 Saw us attempting to get more organised with our hobby.
We started and finished the year with three established hives. Two in our purpose made enclosure and one, a swarm from hive1 under the honeysuckle bush further down the garden.
We bought a second hand extractor in a sale for £15… (A good buy as they cost over £150 new). It was broken but a bit of repair work later saw it working properly and we were able to extract almost 50lb of honey…. Self sufficiency had been achieved!
