2004 Summary

The year proved quite a successful one for us. Lots of Honey from the Bees at Monk Stray and Flaxton.

The early part being taken up with building new hive boxes.

New boxes

We can say that this year we didn't suffer one swarm from out Monk Stray bees with all the family at home we were able to inspect regularly this year. We did however get a passing swarm make a home with our bees. This has proved to be a very aggressive swarm and we must deal with it in 2005.

Flaxton produced some light spring honey in May. Extending our product range!

And the end of the season saw us successfully entering the York and District Beekeepers honey show…. Third place overall, which can't be bad for amateurs!
