Age: 6-8
Meet: Monday 5:30-6:30pm
The Beaver Programme is centred around arts and crafts, creative, physical and outdoor challenge.
They will also have the opportunity to take part in the fun and excitement of camps and sleepovers. It may be the first time they spend a night away from home so it’s a real adventure for them.
Age: 8-10
Meet: Tuesday Nights 6-8pm
Our Cub Scout pack is split into smaller groups called Sixes. Heworth Cubs take part in a wide range of activities designed to be interesting and challenging. A typical Cub Scout meeting consists of games and activities with plenty of time spent outdoors.
Camps and holidays are some of the most memorable events of the year for Cubs.
Age: 10-14
Meet: Friday Nights 7-9pm
The Scout Section meets every Friday during term time from 7-9pm, and is for young people aged between 10½ and 14 years who are mostly drawn from the Heworth and Tang Hall areas. We aim to provide a safe environment for our Scouts to build their confidence, resilience, and sense of adventure.
We have a varied and balanced programme of camps, walks, and outdoor activities, in addition to fun and creative activities which help us learn about York and the wider world. Our programme is also focused on building teamwork and leadership skills so, as our young people grow into future leaders, they will always 'Be Prepared'.
Adult Leaders and Volunteers.
The success of 1st Heworth rests with the support of its trained Leaders and Parent and carer support. We are all volunteers and always on the lookout for adults who can help and support us in any way.
We are ideally situated between the two Universities in the City and partiularly welcome Scouts Network members who have come to York to study, why not come and join us an make new friends helping to run the sections: info@1st-heworth.org.uk
